Climber screen
The Climber Screen is used for the seperation of coarse material in municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants. It protects delivery pumps in pumping stations.
The advantages of the ClimberScreen:
- No moving driving parts are submerged in the wastewater
- Drive unit of the cleaner rake without ropes or chains entailing less wear and tear
- Maintenance-free pin rack driving ensures even ganging and quiet running of the carriage and the rake
- The driving motor keeps its rotational sense and the drive unit will be saved
- Electro-mechanical overload safety device
- Robust and simple design of the components ensures a long service life
- Possibility of easy covering of screen / or smell-tight housing
- Easy retrofitting into existing plants
- Minimal maintenance and operation costs
Function:
The cleaner carriage is driven by a pair of cogwheels which engage in pin racks. The rake is controlled by rollers running in a guiding track and a follower track.
The cleaner carriage climbs up and down, with the rake achieving a loopshaped working cycle.
When the cleaning cycle begins, the cleaner carriage descends from its rest position with the rake arm opened. Simultaneously, the cogwheel reach the bottom pin of the rack as the rake reaches the channel bottom. The cogwheel then rotate around the pin, and the rake tines mesh into the bar screen.
With the cleaner carriage climbing up, the rake collects the screenings, transporting them to the discharge position where they are removed from the rake shelf by means of a hinged wiper. Screenings are pushed over the discharge chute into a screenings disposal device. This cleaning process is repeated until all screenings have been removed from the bar screen. After a cleaning cycle, the cleaner carriage remains at rest position until it is restarted.
In case of a blockage the overload safety device is triggered and the cleaning process is stopped and a signal given.
The operation of the Climber Screen can be regulated in three ways: manually, by timer and automatically by a differential water level controller.

Material:
- Stainless steel
- Mild steel with high-quality surface coating
Benefits of the sucietto–ClimberScreen:
- Enables even parallel movement of the carriage and rake due to the constant length of pin gear sections.
- Ensures high operational reliability due to defined meshing of the rake into the bar rack.
- Allows arrangement of all driving elements and bearings above water level (no submerged moving parts).
- Applicable for very high flow rates
- The sturdy construction can be retrofitted into existing channels.
